There are a lot of workout DVDs on the market right now, and it seems like a new one comes out every day. They all boast insane results and guaranteed success, but in reality, not all workout DVDs are created equal. And when it comes down to it, you need to be willing to put in the time, dedication and hard work that is required to successfully lose weight quickly.

Today, we will review two of the best workout DVDs for weight loss. We feel that these programs are doable for most of the exercising population, and yield great results.

The Top Workout DVDs for Weight Loss

  1. Shaun T’s FOCUS T25 Base Kit – DVD Workout

You’ll also find this killer workout in our best at home workout DVDs list. It’s no coincidence that this program has made it’s way into multiple listings. It’s a quality program that is done in a short time. The bottom line… it gets results.

FOCUS T25 boasts that their program gets 60 minutes worth of exercise done in 25 minutes, and it might be true. It’s an intense 25 minutes, that’s for sure! T25 focuses on progressive exercises through the 25 minutes. We felt that T25 gave a great overall workout.

Many of the results they advertise like 30+ lbs in 4 weeks seem a little lofty, although I could see how someone who is a little more overweight could achieve that. We didn’t quite reach that amount but we definitely saw solid results.

As far as the overall package goes, there’s a lot! You get the 11 workouts, nutrition guides, workout calendars and a resistance band is included, which is nice.

Pros:

25 minutes makes it reasonable for anyone to fit in
Great workouts with alternative exercises if needed
Resistance band included
Quality materials

Cons:

Exercises are not well explained for newbies
Alternative exerciser is sometimes hard to see
The chosen exercisers are hard on the joints

Here’s what some people are saying about Shaun T’s FOCUS T25:

“Shaun T makes working out HARD, but you’ll get FAST results!”

“fat girls can do it too”

“Don’t let the 25 minutes fool you, you will work in this program”

  1. INSANITY Base Kit – DVD Workout

Insanity is the perfect name for this workout DVD. It’s a super intense program that’s designed to push you to your limits, but it definitely works. We found this to be one of the most challenging workout programs we’ve tried. With that said, it manages to make things challenging, but not as hard on your joints as some other workout DVDs.

Most of the workouts are around 60 minutes, which can feel like FOREVER some days, but like I said, if you’re willing to put in the effort, you’ll see the results at the end of the 60 days.

Pros:

No equipment needed
Well made DVDs with good cueing
Lots of extras including nutrition guides, workout calender, and online tools (very helpful)

Cons:

60 minute workouts may be inconvenient for some
Very challenging

Here’s what some people are saying about The Insanity Workout DVD:

“Rrrrrripppp… yes, that was the sound of my abs flexing”

“Best high power workout on the market”

“Five Stars”

We found a lot of success with both of these workout DVDs for weight loss. They aren’t easy, but they both provide good alternative moves for beginners. If it was easy, everyone would do it! It takes some dedication, but you can definitely lose weight quickly with either of these at home workout DVDs.
